Empowered Pathways is proud to announce that Executive Assistant Joanne Thompson has been accepted into the upcoming Leadership Mohawk Valley (LMV) cohort through the Center for Leadership Excellence at Mohawk Valley Community College.
Leadership Mohawk Valley is a highly regarded regional leadership development program designed for established professionals committed to making a positive impact within their organizations and throughout the Mohawk Valley community. Over the course of the 10-month program, participants engage in behind-the-scenes visits with businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies while exploring important regional issues, leadership development, and community collaboration opportunities.
Joanne’s acceptance into the program reflects her continued professional growth, leadership potential, and commitment to community engagement.
Since joining Empowered Pathways in December 2025, Joanne has played an important role in supporting organizational operations, communications, outreach efforts, and event coordination. Her professionalism, collaborative approach, and organizational leadership have helped strengthen internal systems and support the organization’s continued growth and modernization.
“We are incredibly proud of Joanne and excited to see her selected for Leadership Mohawk Valley,” said Executive Director Timothy Lyon. “She has already become an invaluable member of our team, and this opportunity will allow her to continue growing as a leader while building strong relationships throughout our region.”
Leadership Mohawk Valley participants explore topics including economic development, education, government, diversity and inclusion, human services, and community leadership while developing professional networks and collaborative leadership skills.
“Being selected for the Leadership Mohawk Valley 2027 Cohort is both an honor and an exciting opportunity” said Thompson “I’m grateful to join a group of dedicated leaders and look forward to learning, collaborating, and contributing to the future of our community.”
Empowered Pathways congratulates Joanne on this accomplishment and looks forward to supporting her continued leadership development and community involvement.
