Empowered Pathways Names Timothy Lyon as Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Empowered Pathways is pleased to announce the appointment of Timothy Lyon as the organization’s permanent Executive Director, effective February 1, 2026.

Timothy previously served as Interim Executive Director during a significant period of organizational transition and growth. During that time, he helped guide Empowered Pathways through leadership changes, staffing transitions, evolving compliance requirements, and uncertainty surrounding major funding and contract processes.

Since first joining the organization in 2019 as an AmeriCorps member, Timothy has served in multiple leadership and program roles within Empowered Pathways, including Restorative Justice Coordinator, Senior Restorative Justice Coordinator, and Director of the Community Dispute Resolution Center (CDRC).

During his interim leadership period, Empowered Pathways maintained operational stability while advancing several major organizational initiatives, including:

  • Completion of key state compliance and audit requirements
  • Development of improved reporting and operational systems
  • Expansion of statewide partnerships and leadership engagement
  • Strengthening of fundraising and donor systems
  • Selection and implementation planning for new IT and website infrastructure
  • Organizational restructuring to strengthen leadership and program support roles

Under Timothy’s leadership, the organization also exceeded its Mohawk Valley Gives fundraising goal, raising more than $30,000 while continuing to strengthen relationships with community partners, funders, volunteers, and state agencies.

“Throughout this transition, Tim demonstrated steady leadership, adaptability, and a strong commitment to both the organization and the people we serve,” said the Empowered Pathways Board of Directors. “His collaborative leadership style, operational knowledge, and dedication to empowerment and restorative practices made him the clear choice to lead the organization into its next chapter.”

Timothy brings extensive experience in restorative justice, mediation, training facilitation, program development, and nonprofit leadership. He has led restorative practices trainings across New York State, contributed to statewide ADR initiatives, and helped expand Empowered Pathways’ visibility and partnerships throughout the region.

“As I step into this role permanently, I am incredibly grateful for the support of our staff, Board of Directors, volunteers, community partners, and former Executive Director Stephanie Eghigian throughout this transition,” said Lyon. “I remain deeply committed to ensuring that every interaction with Empowered Pathways reflects respect, empowerment, and community connection. I’m excited to continue building on the organization’s strong foundation while expanding opportunities for collaboration, restorative practices, workforce development, and community impact throughout the Mohawk Valley.”

As Executive Director, Timothy will oversee all organizational operations, including the Community Dispute Resolution Center, Women’s Employment & Resource Center (WERC), Surrogate Decision-Making Committee (SDMC), fundraising initiatives, strategic planning, and community partnerships.

Empowered Pathways looks forward to continued growth, innovation, and community impact under Timothy’s leadership.
